Michael T. Schmitz, Director of Compliance and Facilitation, World Customs Organization

Having recently joined the WCO after his election in June 2005, Mike Schmitz has held a number of senior positions at the US Customs Service, the World Customs Organization, the US Treasury Department, and the US Department of Homeland Security respectively. Prior to joining the WCO for a second term, he was Assistant Commissioner in the Office of Regulations and Rulings at US Customs and Border Protection and has extensive experience in legal matters.
