‘Grey Market, Risky Business’

ICCE have produced a leaflet, outlining the dangers of purchasing counterfeit product. Invariably, then product will enter the market through unauthorised sources. The fact that your company has been caught with counterfeit product will subject you to criminal/civil actions either culminating in a prison sentence or a heavy damages or sometimes both. All illicit product will be seized and destroyed without compensation.

When you purchase consumables on the grey market, you have no guarantee of its origin and therefore whether it is genuine or counterfeit. By purchasing on the grey market...

• Having your reputation with your customers damaged, counterfeit goods are invariably low quality
• Having your counterfeit stock seized and destroyed
• Being subject to a civil or criminal legal action
• Acquiring a criminal record and/or paying substantial damages to the manufacturer
