Raids seize thousands of counterfeit toners across Ajman and Dubai.

Over halfway through 2016 and it is proving to be another successful year in the crackdown on counterfeit imaging supplies across the United Arab Emirates (UAE). During June, the Economic Development Departments of Dubai and Ajman conducted widespread raids against one of the biggest importers and wholesalers of printing consumables in the UAE, resulting in the seizure of thousands of counterfeit imaging supplies.

For over 10 years, ICCE members have been working closely with public authorities in the Middle East to reduce the level of counterfeit imaging supplies entering the market. These activities have included working with institutions for economic development, municipalities, consumer protection and police across the region.

A representative for one ICCE member, which had counterfeit products of its brand seized during the raids, said: “ICCE members and the Economic Development Departments of Ajman and Dubai have developed a strong relationship which enables us to further assist the local authorities in the continued fight against the illegal counterfeit industry in UAE.”

The representative also added; “we would like to thank the officials at the Dubai and Ajman Economic Develop Departments for their cooperation and responsiveness which is instrumental to the continued success of our joint efforts.”
